The actress was born in Skane, Sweden and worked as a model before she started her acting career. She was crowned the Miss Sweden competition. After she left Sweden for the US and was featured in numerous films in minor roles before her professional career took off. She had her first role as a character in Abbott and Costello Go to Mars in the role of an Venusian. In the following year, she won the Golden Globe award in the Most Promising Newcomer category, after being featured in the movie Blood Alley.
